Reliable networking is about making networks meet or exceed the availability requirements of the application.  Office networks, discrete industrial processes, and continuous industrial processes are all real world applications that have different levels of network availability required. This workshop is based around the SCALENCE XC ethernet switch family and explores the variability and criteria in different network applications, strategies available to increase a networks reliability, best practices to mitigate network downtime, and troubleshooting techniques to quickly diagnose a network when a problem occurs.

This workshop is intended for customers who want to learn the different methods and techniques used to make their networks reliable and available. Primarily this might include automation network designers, controls and automation engineers, and maintenance personnel responsible for automation networks. Although it is lightly reviewed in the workshop, the attendee should have a fundamental knowledge of IP and MAC addressing and some networking exposure.

This is a 5-hour workshop with lecture material and hands-on labs.
