Industrial Pneumatics – Basic Principles

Course Content:
• Basic principles of industrial electric controls
• Basic principles of compressed air supply
• Symbolic representation of devices and standards
• Identifying and eliminating faults, including safety aspects
• Cutting installation costs – from single valve to valve terminal

Outcomes:
• Design, assemble, and test basic pneumatic circuits
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic components and basic control systems
• Identify and describe the design, features, and operation of pneumatic components
• Interpret technical specifications and data relating to pneumatic components
• Understand the fundamentals of compressed air generation
• Identify and explain symbols for pneumatic components

Maintenance and Troubleshooting of Pneumatic Systems

Course Content:
• Setup and commissioning of pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems
• Design and function of pneumatic and electro-pneumatic circuits
• Common failures of components
• Characteristics and behaviors of failing components
• Disassembly, inspection, and repair of failed components
• Identifying root causes of component failures
• Troubleshooting of various pneumatic circuits

Outcomes:
• Set up and commission complex pneumatic systems
• Systematically troubleshoot pneumatic systems
• Know the role of PLC in automation and to integrate the PLC into the control section
• Work with valve terminals
• Interpret latest standards and regulations
